The attack took place a few hundred meters from the entrance of two nightclubs, “Chasis” and “Eqlògic”, from where the victims and attackers came after the closure of the premises. The fight began when the group of friends of the victim (from Sant Feliu de Llobregat), made a remark about Hospitalet de Llobregat, the native village of the aggressor group, formed by four young men and two girls aged between 25 and 30 years old. Kicks and punches preceded the stabs on chest and abdomen that caused the death of this young man and a slightly wound in left arm in another man. The heavy bleeding caused Rafael a cardiopulmonary arrest from which he could primary recover due to medical assistance. However, he finally died after medical surgery. “Chasis” nightclub claimed that the attackers were not plowed to enter the club because they were well-known as troublemakers who caused several incidents previously. According to eyewitnesses, the attackers were far-right skinheads and one of them wore a shirt of the ultra group “Boixos Nois”.
